It has been a very wet spring but the skies cleared up just long enough to give us nice weather for this year’s Humane Society of the Ozark’s Dogwood Walk. There was a really good turn out with lots of familiar faces in the crowd. Special thanks to all of our clients who were able to make it to the Dogwood Walk and help support the Humane Society. It seemed like this year there was an endless list of cool things to do such a free ear cleaning and nail trims from Petco, $20 microchips from the Animal Shelter, animal paw printing and professional photography. Prizes were given for best dressed dog, most unique dog, and owner-dog look alike, just to name a few. All of the day’s activities peaked at the actually dog walk around the beautiful 1.5 mile walking path at Gulley Park. This years Grand Marshal was UA Athletic Director Jeff Long. The day wrapped up with drinks and pizza from Papa Johns.
Every year we have a theme for our booth and this year’s theme was “Peace, Love, and Dogs” a flashback to the 1960s. It definitely made our booth very colorful and brought out the fun and creative side of our staff members. As a part of our theme we had a Volkswagen bus where people could have their picture taken, it was definitely something you couldn’t miss. We also had a special guest appearance from the Wedington Animal Hospital mascot, Wahly. He had made his debut appearance a few weeks earlier on Fox News’ Critter Corner but was excited to get to meet all of you in person. All in All, I would have to say it was a very successful year thanks to all those who helped prepare and to all those who came to participate.
Until Next Year,
Crystele
PS We have special plans brewing for next year’s booth so you won’t want to miss it!!!
